"The first of 2 weather systems has passed off to the east with a varying wind field in its wake. The second storm complex will be pushing eastward off the coast between Matagorda Bay and Corpus Christi into the mid morning hours. Look for some strong storms, lightning, chaotic seas, and gusty winds in the Matagorda Bay area and Gulf waters this morning. East or southeast winds might pick up to 20-25 knots near the Galveston area late this morning or afternoon as the gradient tightens on the northern periphery of the storms offshore. Improving conditions are anticipated in the late afternoon hours. A more typical seasonable weather is then anticipated going into the weekend with light onshore winds, low seas, and slight chances of showers and thunderstorms each day."
